Roommates can make your apartment living a save and fun experience, but if differences occur between the roommates, it can put your friendship on the rocks. It will be in your best interest to have your roommate(s) agree to similar terms below:
Rental Agreement
All of the Roommates agree to be bound by all of the terms of the Rental Agreement.
Lease Term
Each of the Roommates will live in the Apartment for the period set forth in the Rental Agreement with a beginning and ending date.
Rent
The total monthly rent for the Apartment is a set amount of money $____. Each Roommate will pay the following amount(s): ____. Rent shall be payable on a certain day of each month directly to the apartment owner
Security Deposit
The total security deposit is a set amount of money $____. Each Roommate will pay the following amount(s): ____. Each Roommate will receive a share of the deposit at the end of lease. Any deductions from the deposit shall be shared by all the Roommates in proportion to the amount of deposit paid; however, any damage caused by one of the Roommates shall be paid only by that Roommate.
Early Termination of the Lease
If one roommate elects to leave before the end of the lease, the departing roommate will be responsible for their share of the rent until the end of the lease term or a replacement roommate starts paying rent.
Living Arrangements
The bedroom(s), chores, and other arrangements will be allocated as follows. List the arrangements and chores.

Agreement is Complete and Binding
All preliminary negotiations by the Roommates are merged into, and superseded by, the terms of the Agreement. Any modification to this Agreement must be in writing, signed by all the Roommates.
